Pumpkin Patch! {Shreveport Family Photographer}

When the slightest hint of fall gets here to Louisiana after a long summer of near constant 105 degree heat, we all put on our hoodies, make hot chocolate and start daydreaming about fires in the fireplace. Louisiana Fall is stubborn, though, and wouldn’t play along on this day. I photographed this little cutie and his beautiful mama at a local pumpkin patch and park. Fall is my second favorite season and I just love all the colors and textures. I think we did pretty good job of capturing the essence of fall here, even if it was 95 degrees outside! I had so much fun and am so happy I got to spend time with this sweet family.

There are few people I have met who are as sweet and sincere as this beautiful family. I had the best time with this sweet little girl’s mom. We giggled and laughed like we have known each other for years and I am so glad they chose me to photograph their beautiful girl.

Even though we had some struggles with this session, this sweet little girl was a perfect angel and barely made a peep the entire time I was there. After practically NO rain for weeks, the evening of our session we had a freak pop up storm which caused the electricity to go out. I was a little nervous about how things would go, but she was such a good baby I had no need to worry. She was perfect. I’m so glad I got to meet her and spend time with her and her family.

New Baby Smell {DeSoto Parish Newborn Photographer}

In my family, we have been patiently waiting to smell that sweet new baby smell again and see those beautiful tiny little fingers and toes. Camryn doesn’t disappoint as the sweetest thing since peach pie and we are all so excited he’s here. He slept so good and was so cute with his little squeaky baby noises, he almost made me wish I could have another…almost. I think I will stick to just being able to VISIT a sweet baby. Welcome to the world, Camryn!

I had so much fun on Friday evening shooting this beautiful girl. She is getting ready to start her final year at the school that I grew up in and I just love her. Three things:

1. My daughter wants to be just like her.
2. She is as sweet as pie.
3. She is totally gorgeous and I am so jealous of her beautiful blue eyes.

Okay that was four. Thanks for being awesome, Kaitlyn!

I have been photographing these girls for a few years now and they are used to being drug from place to place by me with camera in tow. This time was no different. Lots of camera torture. Little did we know that it really WOULD be painful this time…the place we went was full of chiggers! Chiggers or not, I think we got some great shots. Hopefully, they will continue to let me shoot them for years to come, but we learned two valuable lessons: 1-Don’t roll around on the ground in a random wooded area and 2-Bring along a can of OFF for the devil-chiggers.

Spunky girls are my favorite kind. The ones with personality are the ones who make me love doing this. And boy did she have it. AND THOSE CURLS! For goodness sake, could she be any cuter? We went out to Bickam Dickson park in the morning for this shoot and it ended up being one of my favorite sessions so far.

I asked her mama to get in some shots, too, and I am so glad I did because I love they way they turned out.

My Beautiful Girl

As I was mowing the yard, I saw some beautiful light in the back of our yard. After much coercing and begging shamelessly, she went with me to get a few quick shots. By time we got out there, the sun had dipped behind the trees and wasn’t quite what I was expecting, but I still love these. My mini-me.

I was sooo nervous as I drove to their house. My palms were sweaty and my stomach was doing flip flops, but as soon as I met this little baby boy and sweet mama, I felt completely at ease. I had so much fun photographing this little man. His mama and grandmother were so patient with me as I poked and prodded their little angel. I hope I always have as much fun photographing newborns as I did with you guys. Thank you for letting me come into your home.
